Tough Dog is a leading 4x4 suspension brand, established in 1985. Its well-known, proven products with an excellent reputation are trusted by users worldwide, with distribution now covering 42 countries.
Tough Dog’s pioneering approach to research and development (R&D) has resulted in several unique products. The Return to Centre steering damper and the adjustable “SV” steering stabilizer are prime examples of the team’s innovative thinking, contributing to the creation of some of the best suspension systems for off-road vehicles.
Tough Dog products have received numerous awards for their unique features. For example, the Tough Dog 41 mm Foam Cell shock absorber took first place in an independent test conducted by Australian 4WD Action magazine — in a country where suspension systems operate in extreme conditions and reliability is critical.
The Foam Cell shock absorbers used in this kit are the brand’s best-selling solution, offering versatile performance. Whether you go off-road occasionally or drive in demanding conditions most of the year, they are built to handle it all.
“Foam Cell” is a microcellular foam insert that significantly reduces cavitation and aeration — the main causes of shock absorber failure. During intensive use, oil and gas inside the chamber begin to mix, forming bubbles that reduce oil viscosity. Aerated oil passing through the valve creates less resistance, which negatively affects shock performance.
The Foam Cell insert fills the space normally occupied by air or nitrogen, eliminating bubble formation and ensuring consistent performance with high resistance to damping fade, even under prolonged load.
With 9-stage adjustability, you can easily fine-tune the shock stiffness to suit driving conditions. Choose a firmer setting for highway driving and adjust it as needed for off-road use.
